The most apostate thing you could do..?
by iMARX init's taken me a while to start watching films with ghosts in - even a christmas carol - and then eventually i started smoking pot and it didn't bother me at all.
but there are still some things i would have trouble with doing because of the remains of my christian conscience.. anything you guys still haven't brought yourself to do yet?.

Why do Ex-JWs start celebrating pagan Christmas?

im not trying to be self-righteous but i want to understand the thought process of someone who knows the origins of christmas, but starts celebrating it (putting up christmas tree, exchanging wrapped gifts; repeating merry christmas to everyone they see in the month of december)??
it seems very silly to me (imo) after knowing how and why christmas was created (to cater to pagans sun worship and convert to christianity)!!

by highdose ini know that what counts as swearing differs alot from region to region, amongst the words i heard used were "crap, bloody, shit, git, bastard, bitch" and the dubs who used these words would say that they didn't belive they were swear words at all!.

Saturday Encounter on the Street
by OnTheWayOut incomplicated story, but i will make it easy.. my dad had surgery on friday.
he lives 2.5 hours away and the hospital was another .5 hours from that.
i wasn't able to make it out there on friday as i had to work friday night.

Interesting, Blondie... to me it's just another example of how the WT has morphed. In the old "blood and thunder" days, we were encouraged to use any ruse to gain entrance to private aprtment houses, etc. .... now that the Society has huge assets to protect, they've become pretty timid. The legal department has done all it can to distance itself from the local JWs.

Dec. 15th WT - WT Society REALLY Minimizes Earning a Decent Living
by flipper init's ridiculous.
i saw this so much in my 44 years in the jehovah's witness cult.
whether it was elders, pioneers, or other people in the cult criticizing others for working too much at their employment or missing some service or meetings due to employment.
